There are several ways to participate in King of Glory Lutheran Church experiences. Whatever your comfort level, there are opportunities for you to join in community and draw nearer to God.  ​

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

  • What does KoG believe?
             KOG believes that Jesus is the visible expression of God, the Word made flesh. Read more under our We Are. 
  • Is anybody welcomed?
    ALL are welcomed (and we mean it!)
  • Do you have programming for preschool children?
    Yes, we absolutely do. Check out our preschool page for more information on our established preschool in the Newbury Park and Thousand Oaks area. 
  • Where can we sit?
    You can sit anywhere you'd like. If you have small children it is suggested that you sit at the front where children can see. Your children can also go to the children's church before the sermon and return in time for Holy Communion. 
  • How can I watch service online? 
    Join our zoom session at the stated start time. Find more information here. 
  • Can children receive sacrament?
    With the approval of parents, children can receive sacrament. They can also come to the altar and receive a blessing. 
  • Is Holy Communion only for a specific person?
    Holy Communion is for everyone, including children of any age. If parents decide not to have their children participate, they are given a blessing from the pastor. 
  • Do you offer refreshments? 
    Refreshments are offered after service. 
  • Do you have an offering plate? 
    Yes, and you do NOT have to give an offering unless you want to. Offerings are normally placed in the plate in front of the Baptismal font near the entrance to the worship center. 
  • What does the Pastor read from? 
    Each week is coordinated by theme and the passages are Hebrew Scriptures (OT), New Testament Letters (Epistles), One of the Four Gospels. 
  • Is KoG a member of the ELCA?
    Yes, we are! With 8,900 congregations nationally, 100 congregations in Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Kern Counties. Ministry includes California Lutheran University, Thousand Oaks, CA Lutheran Social Services, Lutheran World Relief, Lutheran Disaster Response, a sanctuary church, ordain LGBTQ+ and women. 
  • Is KoG only local?
    King of Glory has worked all through the world, including  Asia, South America, Africa, Central America, and China.
